Every observation can contribute to biodiversity science, from the rarest butterfly to the most common backyard weed. We share your findings with scientific data repositories like the Global Biodiversity Information Facility to help scientists find and use your data. All you have to do is observe.
Getting started
The starting point is to go out and see some wildlife! To record what you have seen you’ll need to know what species you have found, plus where and when you saw it, and say who you are. There is lots of help available, and websites and apps can help with all steps in the process such as the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF)
